The idea of Carnival is the last great feast before Lent; and for centuries this has meant wild celebrations, decadence and masquerades. Most notably with the Mardi Gras of New Orleans and the Carnevale of Venice... put this all together and it just seems so fitting somehow to draw vampires.. and for New Orleans, who could be more fitting than the Brat Prince Lestat himself?
