Story: The Vampire Chronicles of Anne Rice
Media: mixed media hand-dyed 300gsm watercolour paper
Size: 7x10"

The idea of Carnival is the last great feast before Lent; and for centuries this has meant wild celebrations, decadence and masquerades. Most notably with the Mardi Gras of New Orleans and the Carnevale of Venice... put this all together and it just seems so fitting somehow to draw vampires..

For Venice, I chose the vampire with the renaissance face of a Botticelli angel, one who was made in Venice; and who is yet to be accurately portrayed in film: The Vampire Armand.
